Pollution


1.      What is Pollution?

Pollution is when something external to a place (pollutant) alters significantly the natural state causing instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to an ecosystem or a physical medium.

2.      What kind of pollution is there?(give 5 examples am short description)

-Light pollution: is excessive or obtrusive artificial light
-Litter: Litter consists of waste products that have been disposed of improperly, without consent, in an inappropriate location.
-Noise pollution: Noise pollution is excessive created environmental noise that disrupts the activity or balance of human or animal life.
-Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies. Water pollution occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.
-Thermal pollution: Thermal pollution is the degradation of water qualityby any process that changes ambient water temperature.

3.      Which are the greenest cities in the world? Reykjavik.

a)     Where?  Iceland's capital
b)     What are they doing? The city is run entirely on green power.
c)     How are they doing it? It is run with geothermal and hydroelectricity power, while the transport system in the city uses entirely hydrogen.
d)     Could this be applied in your city? Why? Or Why not?
Yes. Because We have the technology, but maybe do not have the resources.
